چکیده

We show that for any constant a, ZPP/b(n) strictly contains ZPTIME(n)/b(n) for some b(n) = O(log n log log n). Our techniques are very general and give the same hierarchy for all the common promise time classes including RTIME, NTIME ∩ coNTIME, UTIME, MATIME, AMTIME and BQTIME. We show a stronger hierarchy for RTIME: For every constant c, RP/1 is not contained in RTIME(n)/(log n). To prove this result we first prove a similar statement for NP by building on Žák’s proof of the nondeterministic time hierarchy.

On the probabilistic closure of the loose unambiguous hierarchy

Unambiguous hierarchies [NR93, LR94, NR98] are defined similarly to the polynomial hierarchy; however, all witnesses must be unique. These hierarchies have subtle differences in the mode of using oracles. We consider a “loose” unambiguous hierarchy prUH• with relaxed definition of oracle access to promise problems. Namely, we allow to make queries that miss the promise set; however, the oracle ...

Compiling Scienti c Code for Complex Memory Hierarchies

The trend in high-performance microprocessor design is toward increasing computational power on the chip. At the same time, memory size is increasing but memory speed is not. The result is an imbalance between computation speed and memory speed. This imbalance is leading machine designers to use more complicated memory hierarchies. In turn, programmers are explicitly restructuring codes to perf...

Learning task hierarchies using statistical semantics and goal reasoning

This paper describes WORD2HTN, an algorithm for learning hierarchical tasks and goals from plan traces in planning domains. WORD2HTN combines semantic text analysis techniques and subgoal learning in order to generate Hierarchical Task Networks (HTNs). Unlike existing HTN learning algorithms, WORD2HTN learns distributed vector representations that represent the similarities and semantics of the...

NEW: network-enabled wisdom in biology, medicine, and health care.

Complete repertoires of molecular activity in and between tissues provided by new high-dimensional "omics" technologies hold great promise for characterizing human physiology at all levels of biological hierarchies. The combined effects of genetic and environmental perturbations at any level of these hierarchies can lead to vicious cycles of pathology and complex systemic diseases. The challeng...

Politeness Orientation in Social Hierarchies in Urdu

The present research is aimed at investigating how the politeness of the speakers of Urdu is influenced by their relative social status in society. The researcher took politeness theory of Brown and Levinson (1978, 1987) as a model. To observe politeness of Urdu speakers, speech act of apology with different strategies was selected. A Discourse Completion Task (DCT) was used as an instrument to...
